Biofuels (Ethanol)

     Biofuels especially Ethanol are being talked about a lot lately, because Ethanol is cheaper and better for the environment, and Ethanol is a renewable energy. Ethanol is made from Corn, & Soybeans. I am not sure what to think about Ethanol because I have heard various things about it both good and bad things.
     Ethanol is good because it will help bring more jobs because it will help farmers earn more money because Ethanol companies will pay more for corn and soy when they are going to use it for Ethanol then grocery stores would pay for it. Ethanol is also good because it better for the environment because it supposedly burns cleaner. They say it will make gas prices go down because Ethanol is cheaper to make.
     I feel Ethanol is bad because it will make corn and soy prices go higher and will cost us more at grocery store which in this economy is last thing we need higher food prices. Also every gallon of Ethanol made the United States government pays $1 U.S. Dollar.  Ethanol is not good because a lot of older engines will not accept Ethanol, it will eventually wear out the engine, even on newer boats you cant put anything higher the E-10 Ethanol gas in the engine or else the will break down.  Ethanol also harms a lot of engines because car company's are making the engine blocks out of aluminum metal instead of Iron because aluminum is a lighter metal and helps reduce the weight of the car, but the Ethanol in gas just wreaks the aluminum blocks it causes them to pit and corrode quickly.
