Formula One Race Cars
I have been thinking and wondering lately about the Formula 1 race cars, I have been thinking about the Formula 1 race cars because I do not understand how they are a safe RaceCar, and I do not understand how drivers are safe in those vehicles, I mean there head is sticking out of the car. I know for a fact that I would never get in one and that says a lot because I love fast cars, and I do have a need for speed. I have seen a driver almost get his head crushed by a tire that came off of a car and the tire nearly clipped the drivers head. Ever since Dan Wheldon's deadly crash last year at Las Vegas Motor Speedway which was the turning point and is what really set it off for me and is what made me not like Formula 1 racing and made me question the safety of the cars. One thing that really bothered me about Dan Wheldon's horrible crash is the fact that Dan's car flew in the air over 300 yards thats the length of 3 football fields end to end, He practically had no chance to survive and another thing that was horrible is the fact that he was engulfed in flames and pretty much burned to death. I do not think these RaceCars are safe because they have no meat to them and the drivers I feel are not protected. I like to call the Formula 1 RaceCars "death traps" because of the big risk that comes with them. If a little bit of air gets underneath these cars they become airplanes which is not safe because once that car goes airborne you have no control over the car and where it will go and what damage will done.
