Fracking
If you live in region where there is high amounts of natural gas, I am sure you are already well aware of fracking and already know what fracking is. If you do not know what fracking is you are probably wondering and saying to your self what the frack is fracking? Well for those of you who do not know what fracking is, fracking is the process of where they extract natural gas from marcellus shale deep down inside the earth using water. Natural gas is commonly found in marcellus shale, and they have found an abundant amount in the Appalachian Mountains on the east coast, but there has been a huge amount of controversy with fracking because of safety. The way they extract the natural gas they drill down deep into the ground down until they hit the marcellus shale which; is a very hard rock and once they have hit the shale they turn the drill sideways and pump millions of gallons of natural gas and hydraulic fluid down into the hole which causes enough pressure to crack the shale and causes it to release the natural gas. The safety hazard with fracking is that if something goes wrong the public water sources can be contaminated with natural gas and other hazardous chemicals, in the past there have been causes where people have turned on there faucets at there home and have taken a match to the water and have set water on fire because there is that much natural gas in the water system. But that does not mean that every time they frack something will go wrong there have been many successful fracks where public water sources where not effected.
